Over the last 12 months we have seen a steady increase in the volume of sales being completed which is obviously good news. This trend is indicative of a returning confidence amongst purchasers within the small and medium business sector.

There were no complaints from me this morning when I received an invitation to the opening night of a wine bar in Halifax.

The Greenwood family from Halifax are to open a new bar in Hipperholme following the acquisition of the Lease through Ernest Wilson. Completion of the Lease happened in May and following an extensive refurbishment 'The Tan House' is set to open its doors to the public on 6th July 2011.

Chris & Debbie Greenwood have owned the Yorkshireman Restaurant in Hipperholme for many years and have built a super reputation in the area for fine hospitality. It is in fact their son Robert who will be operating the new Bar and Chris & Debbie have no complaints that Robert has chosen the 'fly the nest' and open his first business.

I was met this morning with the news that my collegue Michael is not now getting back from his long weekend in Italy until next Tuesday! Glad I decided to leave my week in the sun until a bit later in the year.

A busy day at Ernest Wilson!

What a day...it's the end of a long day here at Ernest Wilson which has seen multiple completions from Sandwich Bars in Sheffield to Estate Agents in Leeds, finally there is some consistency and confidence in the business transfer market again.

Been as this is my first blog here's a little bit about me....Having joined Ernest Wilson in 1996 I literally started on the 'shop floor' and learned my trade. Approaching my 14th anniversary with Ernest Wilson my role now involves heading the firms Property Management department as well as dealing with several valuation matters throughout a typical week.

My spare time is varied and when away from Ernest Wilson I enjoy keeping fit and am currently in training from the Leeds half marathon in May.
